We value: integrity, creativity, growth and quality and believe that our values show through in our work which is why we want to share some of our projects with you.
For just over two years now we've been building a strong client/agency relationship with the Red Deer & District Community Foundation. Having started out with the Vital Signs project in 2007, we've continued to handle their large print projects.
The real success of our partnership stems from communication and simply, getting to know each other. We want to get to know our clients in order to provide the best solutions possible. In our industry, there is no such thing as too much information.
With the Community Foundation, the knowledge of their organization and its goals allow us to make recommendations for projects like their Annual Report. We put an emphasis on the planning stage and created a visual system taking elements from past projects, incorporating a few new ones and establishing a consistent identity beyond their logo that they can use for the next few years. To kick off this identity, we produced presentation folders and a document template (much like a letterhead) to allow the Community Foundation to create consistent inserts for the folder. We wanted to have the flexibility to add new elements to make future projects like Vital Signs 2009 stand on their own while staying consistent to the overall look.
Another concern working with a non-profit is always cost. We want things to look professional, but never expensive, and sometimes this standard means a creative solution. For the 2008 Annual Report we devised an accordion fold booklet in order to save paper and printed using only two colours. Printing in an environmentally-friendly way continues to be a requirement in the RDDCF's work, which works hand in hand with the idea of printing less and using less paper for cost reasons. Additionally we used an FSC certified printer, paper made from 100% post-consumer fibre and vegetable-based inks.
We'll be continuing to implement these strategies on this year's Vital Signs (stayed tuned!) and look forward to many years working with the RDDCF.
