Over the last week Jadene went to Las Vegas to attend the ICAS conference and act as Idea Market/City of Wetaskiwin ambassador for our finalist entry in the Marketing Awards. Once she's back in the office we'll be making her blog about her experience there, but in the meantime, here's the spoiler-- the 2008 Wetaskiwin Air Show won second place!
Undeterred by our non-win at the ALTO's, the Alberta Sweet 16 applied for a CAEP Marketing Partnership award at the CAAA's. This time our efforts came to fruition and we took home an Achievement Award!
Congratulations to both the City of Wetaskiwin and Central Alberta Tourism!

Idea Market regularly attends the Red Deer Rebels games (or at least, the male portion of the team does..), but once a year, we get to use one of the skyboxes to see a game! Last night we took full advantage of the offer and invited members of Central Alberta Tourism (our clients for the Alberta Sweet 16 project) to join us, fill the room and munch on appetizers while watching the game. With Steve AND Jadene in Vegas, we definitely had room to invite the whole CAT crew.
We loved getting to host and treat our clients to a fun night out. Too bad the Rebels lost to the Regina Pats 4-2.

Idea Market is excited to be relocating to our newly renovated office-house as of Monday, December 1, 2008. Visit us at our new office at:
5310-50 Avenue
Lacombe, AB T4L 1J6
A reminder that any meetings scheduled to take place at our office will now be down the road at our *new* place! (Just two doors west of the Lacombe Memorial Centre) and please note our new mailing address for your records.
Idea Market will be closed for the holidays for the week of December 21 to December 27; and on New Years Day. If your project deadline falls between those dates, give Jadene a shout and we’ll figure out how to make it work.
Idea Market thinks you’re simply the best: you’re better than all the rest.
Thank you for being super cool clients! We look forward to hosting you at our new idea-inspiring space in the New Year!

I've been dreadfully remiss in not posting this sooner.. I blame my death-cold. In any case, last Friday night 4/5 of Idea Market (our S.O's, and the Fishers' neighbours) met up at the Keg for dinner, hosted by our client (and Realtor®) Richard Pochylko, along with his lovely wife Gail. Richard has established a near-year-end tradition of taking out some of his clients for a night out as a thank you for the business and the referrals. This year it was us! We had a great time and were very well-fed... thanks Richard and Gail!

The Office House is starting to look like home... with paint on all the walls, a floor ready to stain and the kitchen pretty much ready to assemble, Idea Market hopes to be moving in to the new space this weekend, next tops.
These photos don't actually show the full extent of the current progress, but are a definite improvement over the last set of photos! Once everything is moved in we can post the "after" photos.. and plan the office-house-warming...

The ALTO awards were announced on Oct. 27 in the Banff Springs Hotel. Erin and I drove down for the occasion to meet up with our fellow office-mates (Carson, Steve and Jadene) who were partaking in the Travel Alberta conference.

The first Sweet 16 promotion of central Alberta events throughout the summer wrapped up at the beginning of September. Its success has prompted the Central Alberta Tourism Committee to continue promoting the events that make central Alberta a great tourism destination: even in the winter. This continued campaign starts this week (promoting Agri-Trade and Christmas in Markerville) and runs through til May 1st, 2009. From Stettler's Festival of Lights to Sylvan Lake's Polar Bear Dip in chilly February, there are all sorts of winter happenings to get you off the couch and into your parka.
