We're Hiring - Web Developer

Idea Market is looking for a Web Developer to join our team. Someone nerdy enough to fix our in-house server set-up, but still have good people skills and a sense of humour.

Other qualifications that would make you a good fit include:

  • You can take a design (usually from Photoshop) and turn it into a standards-compliant website using HTML and CSS.
  • You know PHP. At the very least, this means being able to work with existing PHP code and make modifications. Even better if you’re able to write custom code that actually does stuff.
  • You also know MySQL and are comfortable playing around in PHPMyAdmin and writing your own MySQL commands.
  • You know Javascript. Being able to debug Javascript problems and play around with JQuery would be nice.
  • You have a strong distaste for IE6, but still know what to do to fix things when a website breaks in it.
  • It would be great if you were already a Joomla wizard, but if you just know what it is and are willing to immerse yourself in it, that’s enough for now.
  • You will likely end up as our catch-all IT department as well, including helping with networking, web hosting and other technical issues.
  • You have strong communication (written and verbal) skills. This includes being comfortable dealing directly with clients.
  • Finally, you have all those other traits that all employers look for: you’re honest, self-motivated, organized, accountable and detail-oriented.

Additional Details:

  • Full-time position.
  • Salary and benefits to be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
